Does your cell phone work in Cambodia?

Recommended Posts

Mont. If you set up international roaming before you arrive, your phone will work. Bear in mind that your calls will be billed as made or received in the home country of your sim, so will be more expensive.

BTW, A Thai GSM sim will work to the bridge at Koh Kong, but not much further.

You can buy a Cambo sim for your phone. You will need to get a Khmer to 'front' for you as an ID card is required. Most motodops will do this for you - for a couple of bucks. :D From memory a sim is about $20.

Just buy recharge cards same same as LOS. Be aware that while local and intercountry calls are reasonable, anything international, (even to Thailand) costs significantly more than in Thailand.

The poor old Khmers rent space on some sad, steam driven satellite puttering round over India. (I kid you not - it has Sputnik in its name!) :chogdee2

Thanks guys, I'll just leave it at home. I was really kinda hoping it wouldn't work. Just think, no calls from the TG, " Where are you, what you do?", etc.
