Are there golf clubs that have annual membership? I've read about courses where you pay green fees for each round, but do any expats belong to clubs where you pay an annual membership fee and then have unlimited access to the course.

If so, how much does it cost?

Early May I saw that one of the courses I played(I think it was Treasure Hills or Khao Keow) offered annual membership and unlimited golf for 40.000 Bahts.

Remember that a caddie is allways compulsory.

Definitely available.......you're usually looking in the 30,000 to 50,000 baht range. As rabbit said, you always have to pay for a caddie.

Some of the courses have websites and e-mail addresses. Check www.thaigolfer.com

Hope this helps....

Annual memberships are great...if you love a particular course and play it often. Otherwise variety of courses may be best for you. But...if the course is not local to where you reside...will you have transportation to get to the course. Some courses are quite distant from Pattaya...Treasure Hills, Century Chonburi (very cheap to play though), Noble Place, to name just a few.

In addition to membership fees, some course also have additional annual fees to members. Shop carefully. Some have member fees of only 40k-Bt and they are usually distant courses...but others can be quite expensive. Lean Chabang might cost you at _least_ 2-300K-Bt or more for a membership.

Here's a site where memberships are bought/sold....look for costs for courses in the Pattaya area:

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm comparing costs against those in my area (Wales) and LOS seems to be on a similar level. I'm surprised that they are not cheaper, but at least in LOS you can play all year round. I'm a fair weather player :chogdee2 so tend to keep the clubs locked away between October and March.

Laem Chabang...cart mandatory and only 1-player per cart.

Phoenix...last I heard they were asking 75k-Bt for a years membership.
