EVA and China Air question....

Never flown them but they offer the best price for the Nov. trip I'm looking to take. Can I choose my seats? Only ask because the only Asian carrier I've flown was JAL and you could request but not book ahead of time. Thanks in advance.

I do not know about China Airlines. For EVA air, you can go in thru their website approximately 90 days before your flight and pick your seat. You have to be a member of their frequent flyer club.

 

So far I have always (seven times) gotten the exact seat that I wanted by going into the system within a few hours of when the seats for that flight are available for selection.

I book on the China Airlines website... and you can do an e-checkin which lets you see the seat you are assigned and you can change to any open seat. The e-checkin period is 24hrs prior to the flight.

 

You have to be a member for their ff club also...

I either have my travel agent or the China Air rep verify my seat assignment. No problems.

 

This upcoming flight (end of July) - I have enough miles to upgrade to Dynasy class - a big plus especially on the 10 1/2 hour HNL - TPE leg.

 

Did it one time before and if I could afford it would do it everytime....so much more comfortable and much better service.
