Fair Properties - reliable?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experience renting through Fair Properties (Thappraya Road)? I did a search for the last six months and did not find anything, which I suppose is a good thing!

I don't want to get there and find that not only do I not have an apartment, but my deposit (if they ask for one) is gone!

IMHO,they are as good as any other agent maybe better than most. However

you will pay top price and more.

There have been topics on private rentals sales etc.In these the owners will

be happy with a price far below what the agents ask.

Barter very hard or better still ask on here for private sale or rent.

I have not dealt with them but a friend has...his opinion is that he would never deal with them again.

If you are looking for property to buy or rent, post what you are after and maybe some of us BM's can point you in the right direction.

Thanks guys.

A couple of people I contacted through this board are asking no less than Fairview, at least not enough to make a significant difference. Besides, they didn't have what I was looking for.

I did post a request earlier with my email address but haven't heard anything.

Here it is again: a studio or 1-bedroom for December, furnished and with aircon. The most important consideration is that it should have a good sea view. Better yet, be close to the ocean. Somewhere between 40 and 60 sq.m. should be fine. If anyone has anything please email me at refuge5555@yahoo.com. Don't PM me because for some reason I cannot make the PM feature work.

Why not use the Whitehouse Condotel, if you are looking for a condo........One other choice is the Inn of the Golden Crab.

Either properties do not require an agent who may be ripping you off.......Both places have good reviews.....

I rented thru Fair Properties at View Talay 2 last high season. The cost was 10K for a studio. They assured me that a phone and internet line would be installed when I arrived. It was not, even though I sent a deposit of over $400 a month ahead of time. They did not even take the phone/internet order until after I arrived. Six weeks later, I was still waiting for the internet line to work. Finally, I left in disgust and moved to a hotel with internet.

The girls at Fair Properties were very nice and tried to help, but the phone company in Pattaya is so bad that they don't even answer their phone!!!!!!!!!!

They were fair in refunding all of my deposits - perhaps they feared a lawsuit. Don't know whether to blame Fair Properties or phone company, probably both. I can tell you this, I will never rent a condo over the internet again. Better to stay in a hotel and go in person and look at the place and make sure it has everything you need and that everything actually works!!

Thanks DV34917. I agree that it is best to inspect a room or condo yourself before renting.

However, sometimes that is not possible. I am there for only a month, so I really do not have the luxury of time. The second factor is even more problematic - I am there at high season, and that is a time when all the better places may be gone, and what is available will be more expensive. So, the next best avenue for me is to use the Internet - knowing that it is a tool with its own faults.

From what you say Fair Properties appeared to be fair in its dealings with you. Let's hope for the best, and I will post a report once I am done with them. I must say that so far they have acted professionally in answering all my questions and in replying promptly.

Fingers crossed!

I rented from them in feb the only problem was with the cabel tv not working asked a few times to get it fixed unfortunatly that kind of thing needs to be done by the condo owner so they knocked 300 bht of the monthly bill .but price wise there was little in it and you do get a good choice of propertys i would use them again
