Golf Clubs (set)

Recommended Posts

Can't find the answer with a search ........ even though, i'm sure I read something similar a few weeks back!

I'm coming over next month and seeing as though I haven't played Golf for sometime I'm short of a set of clubs.

I want to buy a set because i'm determined to take it up again, but my question is .....

Should I buy in UK or Pattaya (or BKK)

I'm looking for a decent set of Mizuno or maybe Callaway, with Woods (even though I can't use them), Putter, Bag, etc, etc.

Just had a thought ....... USA is pretty cheap for Golf Clubs isn't it? Anyone fancy bringing a set over for me? :clueless

I would say there is a golden rule for anything Thailand

If it's imported it's expensive.

Mizuno's and Callaways are the same price if not higher than the UK - Wilson stuff generally more so.

If it's cheap it's a copy.

the rule seems to work well for

Golf gear, cars, women, beer (Guiness, Strongbow etc)

please add to the list

I priced real Mizuno and Cleveland clubs at a Sports shop and they were right around the listed retail price as in the US. :chogdee I could find the clubs used cheaper in the US then purchasing them in Thailand.

Thanks guys,

Looks like I may just buy a 2nd hand set and bring those over with me.

I don't want to buy 'copies' as i've seen them break before and I don't want to invest in a 'made to measure' set untill I get my swing back.

Cheers

I bought a set of knockoffs last month and had no problem...in fact I was damned happy with them. If the guy opposite the RG is still there he may be able to advise you.

If you're not playing more than a few games it may be easier to hire. Who are you playing with? The boys at Lewiinskis or the Haven or any of the other regular comps can set you up cheaper than hiring on course.

Or PM boardie Doghaus. (If you play with him, make sure he's got clean breeks.) :banghead

Casper

If you are looking for genuine branded clubs, it will be cheaper to buy them from one of the discount stores in the UK. The real McCoys are expensive here but the copies are not bad.

I have a few rental sets and I bring them over from the UK.

Cheers

Never buy copies, there the same as clothes. Look good but dont feel the same

I would buy some cheap second hand clubs from your local pro shop, not JJB or somewhere branded.
