Hi, I was in Pattaya last November and it was fun, but a few of the cheaper hotels were booked. I was there also in June and it was easy to get a room....so my question is: when is the high season, low season, and in between season in Pattaya? I am planning a trip to Asia for some time Feb-April...in those 3 months which is the best time to visit Pattaya? BTW, it was hot as hell both in Nov. and June...is it really much hotter in April and May? Thanks! Otto

February to April sees the high season winding down. Weather wise, I would recommend earlier in that 3 month period rather than later. April also sees the Songkran Festival, which in Pattaya lasts from 13th to 19th April inclusive. Some people love it, others like me hate it. Many expats leave Thailand for the duration!

The humidity levels start to rise again in March so if it was me, I'd come in February. In November, it is just hot but come March and April it is hot and humid. Before I retired here, I used to come in November on holiday and in my opinion, November is probably the best time to come.

Thailand has three seasons, hot, damn hot and fucking damn hot. May thru September can be brutal. Temp is better in October thru March. Many friendly "tour guides" available year round.

I was across in Pattaya for July and August and I have never seen it so quite. A few of my mates have bars in Soi Pattayaland and Soi 6 and they were saying the same.

Dont get me wrong I still had a gr8 time and on the weekends walking street would get alittle busier due to people coming down from Bangkok!

It's always hot in Thailand, expecially if you're comparing temperatures to European or North American.

At only about 13 degrees north of the equator, it doesn't vary much from month to month, and at most the variation will only be a degree or so.

Here's a few interesting tables:

Average monthly rainfall in Chonburi

Average monthly temps in Bangkol

Please note that the temperatures are not maximum or minimums, they are average 24 hour readings

It's interesting to note that even today (November 16) the maximum temperature reached 34 °C with a low of 23 °C. Over 2 weeks in November maximum temps were always between 31°C and 32°C. Humidity is usually around 75% on dry days.

pattaya starts to get busier in november and usually gets quiet again at the end of march , but in reality the only time you can really call high season in pattaya is the 6 week period from mid december until the end of january.

you will find it very difficult to find accomodation during that period unless youve booked in advance.

other than that, you should be able to find accomodation pretty easily for the rest of the year.
