Golf Lessons and best course?

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen,

I have played a few rounds here in the UK but would class myself as a bit of a hacker...

I'm moving out to Patts this month and would appreciate any recommendations for lessons and which is the best course for a beginner like me.

Also, what are the costs etc? Do you have to have membership?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers!

There should be plenty on this if you use the search function. Third Road Driving range and Richard Livingston 700baht per lesson is a very good start

What is the best course is like asking what is the best go-go bar, many choices, depends on your tastes. Best that you join Pattaya Sportsman club http://pattayasports.org/ that will give you a 10 - 50% discount at many of the courses, this is high season so no real bargains although still cheaper than many countries. Ossi runs the golf program at Pattaya Expat club that meets on Sundays at 10:30 and he gives free group lessons on Sunday @ 8:30 at a local driving range. This is a great place for golf, none of the clubs are really private, off season has some great "sports days" bargains.

Richard is good and is popular with many farang low and high handicappers. I had and still take some lessons from Richard, but as he charges 700-Bt for a _half-hour_ lesson...and spends some of the time wanting to just chat rather than teach. None-the-less he's a good instructor.

I've begun getting lessons from Khun Chakat...a Thai instructor, who is fluent in English, at the Pride Driving Range (on Sukhumvit at Central Rd). I like his teaching methods. ChaKat gives hour lessons at 700-Bt and he will also do 1/2-hour lessons at 400-Bt. I prefer the latter. His mobile is 086-329-4439. Chakat doesn't teach every day...call for an appointment.
