thai/english keyboards

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys and Girls

can any BM help me with info on how the Thai/ English keyboards work. i really am a geek when it comes to computors i'm afraid.

i need to operate a PC from home but need to change regularly between both languages/scripts.

An often unforeseen problem of a Falang/Thai relationship i guess

i have purchased a dual language keyboard but dont know how to change scripts. any info would be appreciated on this,

i have searched forums for thai keyboards but no joy.

many thank you's

It's done in regional options, language tab you have to add scripts for Far east languages by checking the box. Then click detail and also add Thai as an additional language choice. If you've done it successfully you'll see a little EN in the lower right corner which can be switched by either clicking on it, or hitting ALT+SHIFT to toggle between EN and TH which is Thai.

ginseng, interesting, thanks for that.

When you click Add and choose Thai, Windows XP (home edition) offers 4 keyboard layout options:

Thai Kedmanee

Thai Kedmanee (non shift-lock)

Thai Pattachote

Thai Pattachote (non shift-lock)

Can you explain the difference between these?

Thanks again for your help.

Also, on my laptop, I have discovered that hitting the key immediately below the escape "Esc" key, toggles between English and Thai.

I like this option - ชอบมาก. The only problem is that I have to increase the font size orI can't read it!!!!!
