I just (last week) booked two dozen UAL flights from SE USA through DC & Chicago, all under $1000. (Only one for me, group quotes were way too high)

 

Yesterday, three more through Chicago, under $900.

 

BTW, the Narita-Dulles UAL flight is new, and lightly better timewise, depending on final destination.
