Closing times/Government Crackdown???

So what is the deal in Pattaya? Are the closing times (2am) strictly enforced, or can you still hit the various disco's until 5 am and then still go to JP Bar and those pool bars and stay up all night drinking with ho's??

Yup! I went by JP Bar last week at 9 in the morning and it was going strong. Some go go's open till 3 or so depending on number of customers.

There are some bars on Beach Rd open 24/7.

In October 2006, I couldn't sleep and took a walk at 5:30am. I walked down soi 8 to beach road, back on soi 7 all the way to 2nd road, then back to my hotel on soi 8 (around the long, long block). I counted 15 bar beers open, playing music and serving one or more customers.

These crack downs happen every so often, normaly when some new cop or government offical has moved into power and they flex their muscles, then it dies down.
