Hi there i will be arriving in Trat after making the border crossing from Sihanoukville to Trat via the Koh Kong - Hat Lek crossing.

I was hoping to make it to Pattaya the same day.

According to the timetables (leaving Sihanoukville at midday), I assume i'll be in Trat at about 5 o clock in the evening.

Are there any buses or mini buses going to Pattaya at this time or would anyone know the cost of a taxi ride.

Another idea i've had is a bus to chantaburi and then change buses to Pattaya. Anyone know if this is possible and what numbers or buses i would need. All help gratefully received. Thanks

last year the bus's left trat at 9am 12 midday and 3 pm, they were direct to pattaya, i dont know if its still the same, if not you should be able to get connections from rayong or chantaburi till fairly late at night , chantaburi-rayong- pattaya, try to avoid the chonburi bus as that takes you straight past pattaya, and makes it a long journey, if you can get to trat for one of the direct buses its a good journey and cost less than 200 baht, i did the trip in a private baht bus once for about 1800 baht, good luck and if you get lost it just adds to the fun...

Thanks for the info guys, as luck would have it there were 2 others on the boat both heading to Pattaya, so as we had missed the last direct bus which like you say is at 3pm we hired a private minibuss and shared the cost, so all smiles in the Land of Smiles

So what did the private bus end up costing you?
