Booked this hotel for a seaview suite in July (2060 baht p/n) and have been trying to find a recent review with no success

has anyone stayed there recently or knows what the suites are like or the hotel in general? or the pro's and con's of this hotel and Soi 13

I stayed there a couple of years ago...not a bad place, kind of small, homey feeling overall with a nice outside dining area for breakfast. Swimming Pool is very small, but view is good from there.

I stayed in a regular standard room.

I'd be interested to know if your suite has a kitchenette or not. Why don't you give us a report after your stay?

BTW, I recall Sportsman is across the street, nice place for a beer.

Chodeeka,

Haven't stayed at the Inn, but have stayed at The Haven hotel acroos the street many times. Soi 13 itself is a quiet little street with mainly hotels on each side. Good eating at The Haven and the Sportsman. Good bar on the corner of Soi 13 and Second Road. You'll enjoy the area, and it's easy to get to everywhere from there.

hi chodeka

yes stayed there about 3 years back and passed by there last month. it is a generally budget priced hotel with budget hotel facilities -small jacuzzi type pool on roof (could take 5 people max), small coffee shop at ground floor with a few tables. it was clean and cheerful and yes has a homely feel. room average size with usual cable, remote control a/c and ceramic tiled floor. i had a seaview (deluxe) room however ther are very few seaview room at the inn house now with high rise along soi 13.

in my opinion even if the suite was very good you could get a better deal elsewhere for baht 2000 per night as other than the suite you would get no facilities or upgraded service.

you will feel like a poor relation when you see the dynasty and sandy springs and even mal maison in same soi. these would give you a good stay for 14,000 per week.

havng said all that you will have a good stay in a good location as inn house is middle of soi 13 that can be accessed from both beachroad and second road baht buses.

have a good one.

I paid an average of 837/night for a suite (wasn't one of the official ocean view suites but had a partial view) back in May 2004 for a 18 night stay. I had to negotiate in person to get that and it was paid one week in advance. Clean basic housing on a quiet street. The location is hard to beat inside the loop and within walking distance to a lot of things. They have always been the poor cousin on the street that keeps raising prices to shadow the other, better hotels on Soi 13. Not a bad place but I think over 2k per is a bit over the top for it in the month of July, typically one of the slowest months in town. Their idea of a suite is just two adjoining rooms with a door between them.

It was a nice enough place at about 1000 baht for the regular rooms last year, but I can't imagine paying 2000 there even for a suite. Rather basic room, small rooftop pool, OK service, nice to have all no smoking but for a few hundred baht more each night the Areca is better pretty much all around. The Dynasty has a similiar location and better rooms, although they can't guarantee non-smoking all that reliably.

I stayed at the Inn several times in 2007. I paid 900/nt for a deluxe in high season and 4000/ week in low.

The suite is not much bigger than deluxe and is not a true suite --just has seating area, The Penthouse suite is huge and is is on the roof with 3 bedrooms. The pool is a dipping pool next to sunning area on the roof.

Service, cleanlines are good. Security box is at reception but I never had a problem in 9 weeks over 3 stays.

2000 baht is too high! This is a good quaint hotel but at 2000 Bt there are plenty of others that give better value. Soi 13 location has the Sandy and others on this tread that will give you more for 2000.

I find their rates close too madness for what you get. OK, Soi 13 and so on...

They are now just below Sandy which got rooms in a better style (OK, they need 'paint' soon as well)

Is the new AA up?

Thanks

Cookie Monster.

One question please. Does the Haven hotel require all female guest (you bring in) to leave their Id at the desk? Or is it "up to you".

Thanks.

TC.

I stayed at Inn House about 18 months ago. I liked it...the room I had was overlooking the bay, just lucky I guess. Clean and modern, big fridge, perhaps a trifle spartan but no complaints.

Girls ID is a must.

I'd stay there again.

BTW, I've stayed at the Haven twice, I have to say the rooms are past their use by date. Food still good.
