Can anyboyd point in the right direction for a good deal on a ticket from Dubai to BKK early August? Prices seem to have gone crazy. Mostly what I am seeing is around $1200 which is considerably higher than normal. My partner is leaving in two weeks and his flight was only $800 on Emirates. Flights to Manila are actually cheaper and its a 3 hour longer flight, go figure?

The right direction is the opposite direction from bangkok!

 

I have been scouting the emirates site for weeks now trying to pin down a good deal and your correct about the july/aug prices. As i stated before in an earlier post, mid june is ok as is early sept but in between ..forget it.

 

My advice is if your really need to use emirates then check out singapore as you can do an air asia hop up to bkk for a few thousand baht. Forget manila or hong kong as it will be 400US $ for a return hop to these.

 

Note you can get a direct singapore flight from dubai (they will try to palm you off with sri lanka stop but discard these flights as your stuck there for 17hrs +)

I fully agree about the prices. My business class ticket usually runs around $1200 from DXB to BKK. My ticket at the end of August is costing me about $1650 this go around. At least my company is picking up the tab for that trip. :bigsmile:

 

My mate will usually get a better deal through Thai Air. I haven't checked on them though.
