Where do you go for Loy Krathong?

So many choices! I will be in the Walking Street area but not anywhere near Bali Hair pier where the fireworks are launched. I think Pattaya Beer Garden is the best place because you get an unobstructed view of the beach and the pier. I know others who dine in restaurants around Lake Mapbrachan and then go down to the water to launch their Krathongs. Other options are Jomtien & Naklua beaches and the Jomtien water reservoir off Sukhumvit 87.

 

Hot tip: Cabbages & Condoms' beach. Private and romantic. May end up there as well.

Last year, I went to Bang Sare's beach the day after Loy Krathong and saw thousands of Krathongs washing up on the beach. The Krathong comes apart and Styrofoam floats forever.

I will probably go to Lake Mapbrachan, it is near to where I live and I prefer not to take on the driving! The nicest I ever spent was out in Na Jomtiem. As far as you can go down Jomtiem beach, where the fishing boats are, there is an estuary and some good seafood restaurants.
