Thai Aiways LHR-BKK

Recommended Posts

What does "partners with Thai Air" mean, other than displaying their logo on your website? Thai Airways doesn't list West East Travel as one of its partners. 1luv

You're a happy chap aren't you. perhaps 'Partners' was/is the wrong impression but when I wnet to the Thai Festival last year in London, the Thai Air stand had WestEast staff on it who both said that they work in partnership with each other. Thats what I was told, but I guess you may know different. Its a very minor issue in my post which was mean't to just emphasise that WestEast INHO are best for price for LHR-BKK

West East are competitive with several other travel agents. Nothing more, nothing less.

Just to warn anyone that has booked with Thai Airway LHR-BKK or BKK-Lhr, they are cancelling many flights in June due to very low load factors. I can see their point, it's stupid for them to run 2 less than half full flights a day when they can just combine them into one flight. I know the flight I was due to go on the 17th June in the evening has been cancelled, and am now rebooked on the morning flight the next day. I know they are running morning flights only on 17th, 18th and 19th June, and apparently there are many other cancellations throughout the month. So check with Thai reservations to make sure your flight isn't one of them.

Please note that the TG917 flight on 19th June has NOT been cancelled.

This information comes from Thai Airways, it is still scheduled to fly as planned.

I wouldn't knock them. However, there are plenty of travel agents who, like West East, offer a price match guarantee. If they work for you, all good and well, but its wrong to suggest that they are able to offer deals unique to West East that other agents can't. That's simply not the case. Where they do score is that they offer a good, personalised service in common with many other independent agents across the country.

And with that quote, I wholeheartedly agree. :D

Many of your airline posts are brilliant, where do you get your info from, are you in the trade?

Bangkok Post is reporting Thai Airways will shortly be cancelling A380 orders !

I think it's a case of their claims of making a profit every year for the last 20-odd years unravelling in real time. :beer

I read that they've also increased their fuel surcharge by 10 USD each-way on the LHR route.

Thai along with BA have high cost bases (which need to be reduced) Looks like Thai will covert A380 orders to 777-300ER/200ER and perhaps A350.
