Help! DVD/VCR problem, help!!!!!

If anyone of you electronic guru's knows how to connect a surround sound DVD/VCR,

 

please let me know.

 

My new neighbor keeps on asking me for assistance.

 

The wife complains about the time I am spending there, to try and help her -

 

I really don't know how.

I see the problem, removing the thong will reveal the 'input' socket, putting your plug in there, should result in perfect reception !
