I asked because I thought you were gay! Only joking, I asked because I thought you hadnt been in los for about 9 years. Maybe got you mixed up with another BM. Sorry :D

LOL I'm definatley not gay :cry1 I have been coming to LOS for the past 3 years but this will be my first time since 1992 to Pattaya, from what I have heard about it so far I think I'm going to be amazed at how big it has grown since then. :D

I have been coming to the LOS since 2000, have tickets for May, and for the first time am considering postponing it till the fall. Not really because of the economy, but because work has become a bit dynamic (less secure) and I don't want to have a rep as an employee that always runs off to Thailand.(even as much as I enjoy it) I was there in November and thanks to the yellow shirts, I got an extra week of vacation.

Most likely I will postpone my May trip to November.

I'm 41 single and no kids but i'm still struggling, but it's not going to stop me coming in July.Every month i put cash aside for my trip even if that means i have to go with out here.

Christmas 2007 my best friend, just 2 months older than me.was playing 5 a side football and dropped dead. You don't know whats coming so live life you don't know whats coming.

Is £3k really going to make a diff if your struggling that much then 3k isn't going to make much of a diff,IMO.

That is so true. I want to live NOW, and not keep delaying moving to SEA. :D Or should I put as much money towards some business loans I have in case the interest rates have to go sky high. And part of this trip would have been to spend a month in Cambo to see if I could live there. But what will the recession do to countries like that? Food riots? More robberies? And a TG that had just said I could stay with her in BKK has just lost her job and will have to stay with her parents.

Why would you move to Seattle?

I know what you mean. Hotels and apartments are about the same or cheaper in Patts and the food can be cheaper. But the drinks and P4P are much cheaper in Cambo.

Totally agree but Cams has that ccertain Wild West air about it which LOK lacks.

Some people may think that it would be better to go to Pattaya NOW, especially when less people may be going because of the recession, because there are likely to be lower prices.

I say the opposite is true.

The Thai mentality when times are hard is to try and make the same money by raising prices or getting more business from the customers that they do have.

So...if you go over the next year or so then you will find girls refusing to drop their prices (because they fear that if they drop their prices and there are fewer customers then they will end up losing even more money - after all they are not experts in Economics supply and demand theories)

...and the girls will be more mercenary in trying to extract as many lady drinks as they can from the customers in their bars. They don't think long term i.e. that by hassling customers then the customer may not come back.

Welcome back Arno....and don't be so negative.

Farangs are showing them the way, specials on beer prices and reduced late barfines. When they see the farang bars tactics and results, they will do what they do so well...copy, bad economics be damned!
