Moved Into My New Rented House In Khon Kaen

Recommended Posts

Hi Nam-Thip (Danny),

how are you, I am still there in the same location, just got back to work in sunny Azerbaijan yesterday, doing 28/28 rota now

Bob

Hello stranger,

Good to hear you’re still alive and kicking.

Myself.

I’m fine and still enjoying life in Thailand, last month (April) I notched up 12 years as an expat yet it seems like only yesterday since I stepped onto the tarmac.

Bjorn.

He recently bought two brand new condos down Jomtien then moved into one with his misses and her daughter. He still visits his house in Ubon (Nonbak) and reckons he may one day move back there.

I had a beer with him last night and many times we’ve wondered whether you’re still in Thailand or not with not having heard from you in some time.

Good to know your still around and say hello to your lass from me.

Keep in touch (Danny)

Well now end of month up leaving my last house

just had another 2500 bhts given back to me from owner

so thats 19500 bhts given back from my 20000 bhts deposit.

kept back 500 bhts for elect bill

I must have been a good tennent and kept his house in good condition :D

Like my new house ,since living here

I have had the garden done

and paid 1000 bhts for the service of the air cons

Nice one!!

You dropped lucky there Dr. Mick as not many get their deposits back, fortunately i'm only in for an amount equal to one months rent which I paid up front.

The house next door to me has been on the letting market for 18 months and both previous tenants lost their 50.000 baht deposits.

It’s occupied at the moment by an American guy who was hit for 100.000 baht up front but seeing as his Thai wife is a lawyer he might just have his deposit returned.

The landlord is 'German' and through his Thai wife of course lives in Thailand from the rental of a couple of houses and a condo.

His mate (English) also leases out houses which is his only source of income.

The last tenants in one of his houses lost the bulk of their deposit on some jumped up suggestion they’d done damage and with the money revamped the whole house which hadn’t seen a lick of paint in ten years.

Whilst telling me the story he stuck his chest out laughing saying his house now looks really nice therefore he can increase the rental charge.

Work it out for yourselves.

To me in some instances deposits are nothing but a scam and a scam not always carried out by a Thai.

Well time seem to pass so quick now I live in LOS,

I have now been living in Khon Kaen,North East Thailand now for 8 months

Been very happy and the City is a great place for a home base :gulp

I have just finished a six month rented contract on my last house.

I have moved because my last house was too large for me and my TG ,also the new house

costs 10000 bhts month compare to my last house which was 12500 bhts month.

Even though this house is smaller ,it still has 3 bedrooms ,2 shower rooms and a very relaxing

sitting room come dinning room.

The garden is smaller but im happy about this as its more easy to keep ,less work for my gardener HA HA.

This is a typical house ,in nice location by the lake and only 10 minute Baht bus run to city

Houses like this can still be found for around the 8000 to 10000 bhts month in Khon Kaen,

Sure is not a expensive city to live and a great place for any body thinking about living in LOS.

I paid down payment deposit of only 10000 bhts ,unlike my last house which I had to pay 20000 bhts deposit.

Now thats anther story about getting your full deposit back ,so far I was happy

because before I left my old house ,the landlord gave me back 17000 bhts keeping hold

of 3000 bhts till end of full month.

Now he tells me he must pay gardner ,I said ok the costs should only be about 300 bhts for cutting

grass and small shrubs :banana

But he tells me the large trees,in which there where many must be cut and trimmed :lovee

When I moved into the house 6 months ago the trees where large and he never cut :D

Also tells me we damaged many of the mosquito mess at the windows, this is bull shit as the damage

was there when we moved in,all i did was to tape the damage frames when I first moved in.

Well im not going to worry over 3000 bhts, also I have a friend who lives in Undon Thani who is high

up in the legal system, she tells me if i have any problems she will deal with it for me

and no costs to :a2m

So to all future renters ,when you first rent house ,point out to owners any damage found

and take pictures for future reference if needed.

Well all I can say now ,Is I am very happy with my new house and have settled in very well

Hope to see some of my friends in the future in Khon Kaen

Hell of a nice place. What a bargain. Back to your ex jackoff of a landlord; why not get your lawyer friend to shake him up a little because of the fact that he deserves it. I understand you not being worried about the amount of money but revenge for those who deserve it can be fun.
