I need some advice, I am coming to Pattaya in late July for 9 days. I want to stay at the LK Metropole because of the location, facilities & amenities. It sits back off the street and it is quite, however it is still in the heart of the Soi Diana / Soi Boaukkow (sic) area. I have stayed at Areca Lodge and a few other places in this area before. Since it will be low season I am trying to get the best value for my money.

I have contacted LK Metropole and they offered me a rate of 1750 baht per night for a standard room, this was done by e-mail. I fel that this is high.

I would like to know if any board members think that this is a fair price? Do you think that I should be able to get a standard room for 1500 per night or a little less during low season ? If so how should I go about getting such a price? Should I just turn up and try to bargain for this price or should I try to negotiate this price by e-mail? Or should I go to a site such as latestay or agoda.com. ?

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

The LK Metropole is a good location, and based on the links given to you above, you can see that the rate you got from them is below their published rate and even below the FLB rate (1800/night) for the standard room.

They might be suffering from low occupancy, so if you keep pressing them, they might go to 1500, but that would be a special case for you. Good luck.

Sabai Wing did this to me in March, quoted me 1850 by email. I replied telling them I thought this was too expensive and please try again! they came back with 1450.

As they say - if you don't ask, you don't get

If you like the area, just over a hundred yrds away you can try J&P Court or Opey de place.

Both are on Soi Lengkee and the charge per night will be around 650B.

Also i know that J&P Court offer a weekly rate of around 4300B.
