BKK to Pattaya May 19 after midnight

Arrive at BKK airport very late the night of May 19th on Northwest Airlines flight 25 from Tokyo. Arrive 12:35 AM (May 20th 00:35). Going straight to Pattaya Bay Resort. Have car arranged to Pattaya.

Sorry it couldn't work out. I have had luck doing this 3 times in the past and all 3 of the guys have turned out to be good friends over the years.

 

I post this arrival times like I give to the hotel when I make my reservations. If you tell them you arriving after midnight and use that date, they can't ever get it right.

I can't sit in the passenger seat because that is the seat we drive from. I find myself try to reach for a steeringwheel that isn't there, trying to take over and drive.

I arrive on the 17th around noon, so I'm out for any taxi sharing. But on my last few flights through Tokyo, I saw guys who were trying to line up a taxi share in the departure lounge at Narita before the flight took off. One was walking around with a sign that said "Taxi to Pattaya?" I've also been approached at the baggage carousel at Swampy about taxi share or even in the taxi queue. You have plenty of chances even if it doesn't work out through the forum.

Thats not a bad idea about checking at the departure gate in Narita before boarding for BKK. Most of the time I stay in the Northwest Club until they call for boarding and then head to the gate and get on the plane.

I do the same on Narita flights. Last trip I even met a BM in the Northwest Club lounge.

 

A more basic difficulty with taxi share for me is the time it can take for different passengers to clear Customs and Immigration. At that time of night, I don't feel it's worth a few hundred baht to wait around for the person with whom I'd share a taxi. If we clear the formalities and reach the taxi queue or pick-up point at the same time, great, but I want to get into either Bangkok or Pattaya ASAP.
