I've stayed there a couple of times, ans probably again in July.

very good location, central with easy Baht bus links in all directions.

some of the rooms are a little bit tired, but not so that it is to unpleasant to stay in.

sometimes the pool areas can be a little crowded, i like some space to relax in

pleasant staff attitude, some charachters there.

1 guest friendly, 2 requires a supplement.

overall does the job well

The Areca has just about all you need.

Comfortable rooms, plenty of hot water and they do have a rolling programme of redecoration now, however this has not been easy as the hotel is often full.

I have stayed there 3 times a year since it opened and the staff are great.

Breakfast is good if you can manage to get up.

There is a small gym and two swimming pools.

For the money I think it is very good value.

Stayed at the areca many times. Great hotel and staff. The rooms are a little tired but not to bad. The pools are excellent. The Corona wing pool is the better one as it gets full sun all day. It is girl friendly, but have to pay 300Bht for your second lady!!

If you really cant stand a tired room the new Evergreen wing opens in Feruary. The rooms are expensive for the first two weeks (grand openning) and then you can get a basic! room from 1400Bht per night

Have a great time in Pattaya

How do they justify the extra 300 baht, undue wear on bed springs?

Not a very monger-friendly hotel. Extra charges for more than one guest and you're not allowed to bring back girls aged below 20. The front desk staff are known to gossip in front of your guests. There are much better choices IMO.

Areca and Corona wings are full right now.

New Evergreen wing 60% occupied.

Standards are being maintained, I love Thai food for breakfast !

Free wifi in the older buildings, new rooms are cabled.

Personally, don't want to stay anywhere else, it's got all that I need.
