Nok Air cheap flights to Chaing Mia from BBK

Recommended Posts

As I was thinking taking my Thia Lady and her daughter on holiday to Chaing Mia next month.

I saw on Nok Air web site new direct route from Khon Kaen to Chaing Mia

also offering cheaper flights under 1000 bhts if booked before 24th Feb

But when i tried booking on line the price quoted was 2500 bhts one way so return 5000 bhts.

So when I rang Nok Air i was told these special prices of 990 bhts was from BBK Don Muang to Chaing Mia

Also told the flights which are on Nok Air web site from khon kaen was not with Nok Air but a partner air line

so special promotion price could not be offered.

Very good price if you flying form BBK but a terrible price is flying from Khon Kaen

This can only happen in Thailand ,shorter distance to fly from Khon Kaen but over double the price HAHA

We may now catch the VIP bus from Khon Kaen to Chaing Mia

but 12 hour journey but at a cost of just over 1000 bhts return journey thats a saving of 12000 bhts for the 3 of use.

C'mon, Mick, get real. The flights from BKK are on Noks 737s, the one's from Khon Kaen are on SGA's (or mini-nok as they now like to be called) 12-seater Cessna. The price differential would exist anywhere else, not just Thailand.

Fork out the extra cash and give the missus a treat. :gulp

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa thanks for this ,now i know

I could even make a saving from the Khon Kaen Flight which would cost 5000 bhts return per person

and save time on the 12 hour bus ride from Khon to Chaing Mia.

Get bus with Nakon Air from Khon Kaen to BKK

Then flight from BBK to Chaing Mia

would cost about 3000 bhts per person instead of 5000 bhts and about 9 hours instead of 12 hours :D

Or you could hire an extra Honda Wave and ........... :D

Seriously, my mother done Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son on SGA's Cessna a while back. She reckoned it was one of the great journeys in Thailand and it only cost something like 30 quid return at the time.

This Does happen everywhere, The distance is not directly reflected in the price in such a way . mostly it is not logical but in this case it is. There are many passengers from bkk going to CM and that usually makes it cheaper and gets better promotions. I have had flights that cost the almost the same for going from amsterdam to dubai or amsterdam/dubai/bangkok etc lool Pisses me of too sometimes

I flew on 1-2-go and got a round trip for 3530 bht which I thought was quite reasonable. And for what it's worth I love the airport. It's allot better than that piece of crap they put together up the road. Someone made a boat load of money off of that.

Well holiday now planned.

Going on night bus ,takes about 11 hours but return trip for 3 of use is just over 1200 bhts,

I know it takes a long time but i have plenty of time on my hands.

Plus with the savings from not flying I have booked into good hotels

At the moment some great deals on 4 star hotels in Chaing Mia with Asiarooms.com

Due to great savings i have booked into 3 very very good places.

Paid higher prices than my normal stays in Thailand but places are better than i normal stay

Total price for roooms for 7 nights is just over 12000 bhts ,but booking direct with hotels

would have cost over 33000 bahts.

Here is where i am stopping

Might all be good hotels mick but no way would I personally stay in 3 different hotels over 7 nights, likely to spend more time moving than enjoying.
