This airline has really decent prices from LAX-BKK in July (under 1,000 USD). Any intel on them? Will it be as comfortable as EVA or China air? Anybody use them before?

I've heard mixed reviews about them. It seems China Airlines and EVA are better.

I have flown them a couple times, but nothing as long as LAX to Bkk. For me, the quality is very poor. I would glady spend an extra couple hundred bucks if I was flying that type of distance.

I flew with them from Amsterdam to Beijing last year. Cost was low, and everything was acceptable but no more. It was a very crowded flight, though, which didnt help. They certainly wouldn't be my airline of choice. Definately not in the class of Eva. China airlines are marginally better too. Personally I would pay maybe $200 - $300 extra to go with Eva but thats just me. If you are on a budget and flight times suit, then they are worth a punt.

I've flown them on domestic China routes and they were decent: on-time and attractive FAs too.

Are the seats normal size? I try to watch my weight, but I am still 6 feet 2 inches. So if I cannot recline my seat, the flight will be a killer for me. I don't need anything fancy. I don't eat on the plane. Just enough room to put my back pad and pillow down.
