DNS Settings Fix for Viewing the Webcam

Recommended Posts

You just have to change the dns setting, then clear the cache through the cmd prompt instead of doing it first, that's what worked for me.

The next step, tho I dont know if it will help since you can see the ustream home page, is to change your DNS servers and/or clear your computers DNS Cache

Lets clear the cache first, since thats the easiest to do.

Click Start then RUN, and type in:

cmd

That will enter a DOS prompt (black terminal window). In that window, type the following command:

ipconfig /flushdns (note: there is a space between ipconfig and the /flushdns - its hard to see in a email :) )

Then try the cam. If that does not fix it, lets update your DNS servers to use the GOOGLE free DNS servers.

Open your Control Panel, then Network Connections (Windows XP), or Network and Sharing Center then Change Adapter Settings (Vista/W7)

Find the adapter that is currently enabled and connected, usually named Local Area Connection (unless your on wifi). Right click on it.

On the window that appears, there is a item called Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4). Click on that and select PROPERTIES.

On the next window, change the DNS Server addresses (if there are any - and if not, add them) to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

After doing that, clear the DNS cache again as you did above, then try the cam again.

Sent to me by e-mail so posted here to help those in distress when they can't get their webcam fix for the day.
