Reading your flier it all sounded like great fun to me until I got to the bottom and and found dual pricing. It's one of my pet peeves in Pattaya. It just sticks in my crawl to be charged more for a seat than a Thai, because it's assumed that I have more money. If I have more money, that I should be considered a VIP customer, not an overcharged one. I may have a belly on me, but I have a small ass, and my ass will fit in the same seat as a thai lady.

Many places in Pattaya have dual pricing, and I refuse to be their customer. While I have said that before, and had several jump on me saying that I'm missing out by being cheap. It's not the case. The business is missing out, because I'm not cheap. True I haven't been on the yellow submarine, or on a ride at Pattaya park, in Ripley's or to a ladyboy show where they charge more for my seat, than a Thai seat. But I have been on many subs before, and paid the same price as Thai's, I've seen transexual shows in San Francisco that Pattaya couldn't even dream of duplicating, and paid the same price as everyone else. I've been to top notch amusement parks that dwarf Pattaya's and paid the same price as Thai's and everyone else. Ripley's just doesn't interest me enough to compromise my values.

I like you Ken, and wish you success in your business venture. But shame on you for being a farang with dual pricing. I could suggest something like Xzyte does. They have a 300 baht enterence, that is waved for me and the lady if I buy a bottle at the door. Inside, I pay for ice buckets, mixers, and beer. They only have one price list, it's the same for farang and Thai's. It's expensive, but it sits better with me knowing they guys at the next table are paying the same price, even though their skin is darker than mine.

....

Randy,

the dual pricing IS NOT intended to be anything other than a DISCOUNT for BMs who want to bring their Thai girlfriend along and is intended as a discount on the 2nd participant - NOT ANY DISCRIMINATORY POLICY. If you prefer I'll charge 2 of you 1000B each (same result) up to you.

I really didn't think that too many Thai girls would be coming on their own (unless I invited them and paid myself)

Cheers :allright: Ken

Ken, I deleted my comments made in haste.

If you want to reply to them, I'll have to go into the whole thing again, which I'd rather not do.

It's really not my business how you run your business, unless your loopy cabin boy accosts me in the street again.

I understand where you are coming from Ken. I didn't mean to sound so negative, I was really venting about others charging duel pricing, and your post just brought up the frustration with me. Two at 1000 each does sit better with me. I know it's the same amount, and if I brought more than one lady, it would even be more. 1200 for singles, and 2000 for couples sounds better as well. It's semantics, but my own pet peeve.

The wording of your flyer just left it to where I read duel pricing. We both know that the "wenches" will be Thai ladies.

What I really pissed about is, when I went to get tickets for the yellow submarine, there was a Thai couple ahead of me in line. The girls mother was in town from Issan and she was telling Jane what a nice man the boyfriend was, taking them on an expensive boat tour. I watched him count out 2,700 baht and pay it. I thought wow, expensive, but by American standards reasonable. Then I got up to the counter and asked for two tickets and was told it 3,100 baht. I was in shock, and asked why the other guy paid less for three tickets than I'm being charged for two. I was told very mater of factly that a Thai ticket is 900 baht, and a farang ticket was 2,200 baht. I walked out after a couple of choice words, and using a finger gesture to let them know that I thought that the dual pricing policy was number one. I got to walk out looking like a cheap charlie, while the Thai got to show off, for 400 baht less than it would have cost me. It's been a pet peeve of mine every since, and I just took it out on you. Sorry about that.

Which was a real pity and certainly not what I was trying to achieve. Bor pen nyang.

Randy, I'll change the pricing structure on future events just for you LOL :whistling:

I am not in LOS at present and therefore no chance of me on board. I do however commend the OP for getting these things going and offering a really differnt experience for us punters. There really is little need for anyone to slag off the poster because at least he is offering quite openly something new. I commend him for his enterprise and effort.

In Ken's defense, and correct me if I am wrong Ken, this is not discriminatory based on nationality. It is discriminatory based on who is paying. The person that is paying is charged more than the ones that aren't paying. The purpose of this is to ENTICE the person that is paying sponser more nonpayers.

Ken, question for you. What does it take to get you to initiate a trip?

i was keen to book out a trip for a few friends last time i was here a few months ago. When i found out that i would lose my money if the trip was canceled for bad weather i lost interest.

We've never cancelled a trip for bad weather (or any other reason) so I'm not sure if that's a valid concern.

If for some reason we did cancel a trip I would in the first instance offer an alternate date.

Cheers :lsmile: Ken

Thanks short. As I explained to lovedog the other night the 2nd price was intended as a DISCOUNT on a second attendee.

The odds of a Thai "wench" attending on her own are not really high.

The new pricing structure is:

Single pirates 1200B, couples 2000B.

.... I have no doubt someone will have an issue with that too :lsmile

For trips short just send me a PM or keep an eye out on any of the main forums. The Treasure HUnt will be a regular thing by the looks of it as well as some other fun days that I'll announce soon.

Cheers :D: Ken
