SAD? go to Pattaya for the cure

Recommended Posts

The clocks went back one hour last night to winter time and tonight we celebrate the ancient Irish festival of Samain which translated into English means Summer' end ( this festival was highjacked by Christians and Yanks and renamed Halloween).

With the passing of "Samain" we will be stuck in the darkness of the long nights of winter until Bealtine (May 1, the end of the dark half of the year).

During the dark dreary days of winter many people in Northern Europe suffer from SAD which causes severe depression, cantankerousness and weight gain.

According to research about 20% of people in Ireland suffer from SAD syndrome and so that is my excuse for being a miserable whinging cunt when I'm not in Pattaya.

My cure for SADness is to visit Pattaya for at least 2 months during the dark half of the year, I genuinely feel so much better when I am in Pattaya, I have a more positive outlook and just feel so good just being there.( it's the bright sunshine that causes me to be happy more so than the threesomes with hot 20 year old Thai girls)

My SAD time is significantly reduced by visiting Pattaya because I feel good about a week before I go and for a week after I come back I'm still on a high.

I appreciate the fact that I'm priviliged to be able to visit Pattaya and escape the cold dark damp dreary Irish winter.

I reckon that many expats that decide to jump unassisted of balconies do so because they have run of money and couldn't handle the prospect of going back to a cold dark place full of miserable begrudgers.

I'm not sure how I could cope if I lost the ability to escape the darkness into the light.

That's my excuse for visiting Pattaya in winter. ... now I will have to find an excuse for my summer visit.

After a couple of months of the bleak UK/Irish winter , you do feel a bit run down. Everybody has the cold and flu and it's dark when you go to work and dark when you leave. A winter break is a real tonic.
