Please help the HIV Social center in Rayong

The camillian center takes care of children (some adults) that are very ill with HIV/AIDs or affected by hiv/aids. i.e there parents have died from the disease and they have no where to stay. Often the children are malnourished and very sick.

 

Their costs are 2,000,000 baht a month, (100 mouths to feed) and most businesses are happy to buy them buildings, but they wont help with running costs, as you can't put plaques on peoples food.,

If you have any doubt that the charity exists, you are welcome to visit them in Rayong, its easy to get to and they are very welcoming!

I chose this charity, because its outside Pattaya, and doesnt get as much attention.. I also thought that it would be nice to put something back into Pattaya, as we all come here and enjoy the place.

Please hand in cash to Tony at drunken duck (Soi LK Metro) and he will give you a receipt and record how much you give, so we can then record it on the forum, if Tony is not there, please put cash in an envelope and hand it in at devils den, (almost opposite) please write your board name on the envelope. There is also a locked collection box there provided by camillian center, if you feel uncomfortable handing money over. (but please let us know how much)

 

Targets.

 

We are looking for 2000 kilos of rice, rice is 50-120 baht a kilo, the drunken duck are collecting the rice, if you dont want the hassle of carrying the rice around, we have rice for sale at the drunken duck, however, we may sell the same rice over and over again, (keeping record of it) and buy more every few weeks with the money paid towards the rice, this saves us alot of hassle. If you hand money in and tell Tony that its for rice, we can buy bulk wholesale nearer the time.

 

1000 bars of normal soap - please drop off at drunken duck.

 

20,000 USD - I tried to convert our system to baht, but I had a few problems, so i changed it to USD. I estimate that we can make this before christmas. All money goes straight to their paypal, our software simply records it.

Father Giovanni Contarin’s Camillian Social Center Rayong.

 

Our Children are spread over four sights, the main one being in-between Ban Chang & Map Ta Phut that we call the Rayong Center.

 

The total number of children living at our centers who are HIV positive = (36 Main Center) + (17 Independent) + (9 LatKrabang) so the total overall = 62.

 

The total number of children living in at our center’s is 83. On top of that we care for a further 15 children who are disabled on a daycare basis allowing there parents to work and support the rest of their families.

 

We also operate a 50 bed Palliative Care Unit for the adults in their last days.

 

In addition 55 of our Thai Staff who carry out all this work are also HIV positive. Most of these where at one time critically ill in our PCU. This helps them a great deal in there lives because it is difficult for Thai people who are HIV + to get work.

 

 

All donations will get a follow up email from the center and some will get thank you letters by post.

You may want to check your rice supplier. Generally, it's around 24-40 Baht/kilo depending on the quality, and even Tesco currently has it on offer for 20 Baht/kilo for a 5 kilo bag.

I assume you mean 79 Baht/3 kg. The 99 Baht is from Tesco's current promotions. 50-120 Baht/5 kilos works out at between 10-24 Baht/kilo.

Been my favourite charity for a little while now (hence the sig). May I also mention that Peter & Anna from Anna Jet Bar on soi 7 support this wonderful charity as well. I had a wonderful day with them and there girls recently when they dropped off a collection they had got together. They also have a collection box on the bar and Anna instead of presents on her birthday etc collects the cash to give them instead.

In the video on youtube it says each person needs 12000 baht per month for food AND drugs etc.
