Spam speedbump?

I just tried to help a mate register and on the registration form it has "Spam speedbump". What is it and where do I get the 8 digit number?

Any 8 digit number will do. Most spam robots can't figure out the question, but most humans can. Apparently we have 2 who can't

I just happened to check new posts shortly after you posted. And, yes, I am online all the time, and yes, I get it to my phone too. Somebody's got to keep an eye on this crowd
