I've read quite a few different prices for the same courses in LOS so that's why I posting this.   What is the price of 18 holes + cart + caddie at a good course?  Are there discounts available?

Thanks in advance.

If you want discount in the Pattaya area I suggest joining the Pattaya Sports Club. They get some great discounts on courses and 2 games should just about cover the joining fee.

The Pattaya Sports Club offers two types of memberships:

1.  Annual Membership:  a yearly membership which is good from June to June the following year.  The fee for an Annual Membership consists of a one-time registration fee of 300 Baht and an annual  fee of 400 Baht.

i.e.  700 Baht to initially join the Pattaya Sports Club, and a renewal fee of 400 Baht per year thereafter.

2.  Gold Card Membership:  this membership is valid for a period of six years.  The fee for a Gold Card Membership consists of a one-time registration fee of 300 Baht and a 2,000 Baht payment covering the next six years.

Blazer...

I played at Laem Chabang last year and I will again this year.....in fact, starting on Sept. 12th!!

Every Tuesday and Friday they have Sports Day....the green fees are 750 baht/person unlimited golf.

On Sunday after 13:00 pm. the green fee is 900 baht.

This is a Jack Nicklaus design and has 27 holes. The caddies are pleasant, knowledgeable and cute!! You HAVE to take cart (don't think you want to walk anyway)which is 600 baht and the caddie fee is 200 baht.

Their regular price, I believe was 1500 baht during the week and then 2500 on the weekends. Considering it's a Nicklaus course 1500 is not bad....2500 is starting to get up there.

I also played Phoenix but I wasn't really impressed with it. It's condition wasn't that great (in my opinion) and the green fee was similar to Laem Chabang.

I may try and check out a couple different courses this time around, but I was very happy with L.C.

Oh, by the way.......they provide locker and towel (unlike courses in Canada and the USA) so bring a change of clothes because it's frickin' hot!!

I hope this helps a little and remember......"tee it high and let it fly"!!

Have fun

I stayed at The Dusit Hotel in 2001. It is a 4-5 star hotel in Pattaya. They had a fantastic deal organised through the reception desk, for Laem Chabang, one of the best golf courses. 1940 baht for two people including caddy and green fees plus 100 baht each/way transport. The Dusit had some fantastic room deals especially pre November, based on free days which  worked out cheaper than some 3 star joints! I don't know if these deals still exist! See my posting, Looking for Golf Buddies 9/9/03. Regards, Stew.

As mentioned before in many threads, if you are here as a tourist say for 3 or 4 weeks then just go along to the HAven on Soi 13 ask for Stephen Beard the owner and join the I.P.G.C. (International Pattaya Sports Club) It costs 250 Baht and current memberships are valid till 2005.  Stephen can be a dour character at times but dont be put off as he is a hard working genuine guy who runs the outfit very well.  They play various courses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and they are a great crowd of guys.  It costs 400 baht at the Haven which pays for the prizes (some cash too), and the transport to the courses.  They also properly keep your handicap up to date too.  The green fees at the courses are highly discounted and often less than Guest rate as they have arrangements with IPGC.  The Haven also is a small comfortable hotel and not expensive to stay there either.  Go look at http://www.thehaven-hotel.com/golf.htm for details.

Just an amendment Phoenix Caddy fees are 250 Baht as they went up some months ago.  Many local golfers have boycotted Phoenix for this reason though I do rather like the course being one of the easier courses to play and nearer to Pattaya than most.

Hello members

I am sorry but I am a bit confused. It seems that there is an 'International Pattaya Sports Club' and a 'Pattaya Sports Club'. Could anyone please explain the difference.

Best wishes

IPGC (not IPSC!!) meets out of The Haven, Lewinskis and The Bunker.  Also sometimes from Shenanigans.  Visit the following website for details http://www.thehaven-hotel.com/golf.htm

I have always played out of the Haven where I find the golf is excellent and the company really good, so I have never bothered or feel the need so far to even try the other options.  I must say those that play out of the Haven keep coming back for more though.  Generally the Haven is for a broad range of golfer who takes his game reasonably seriously.  High handicappers are welcome too as long as they are not really slow players as this spoils it for all.  Lewinskis is generally for the very serious golfer and caters more for the mid to low handicapper  though I am sure they would welcome any genuinely serious golfer no matter what their ability is.  Dont know much about the Bunker though.

Hope that helps Thaidane. Oh BTW I am also a member of the PSC too as they are a good organisation and you have many discount options with them as well as an annual free dinner too.

At the IPGC you will find your handicap is kept using the congu system and at the PSC they use the USGA sysystem. May I suggest its not a good idea to pronounce the merits of the opposing system the the club your playing at unless you fancy a very very long converstion. IPGC are a great bunch of lads playing out of the Haven Lewinskis and The Bunker http://www.ipgolfclub.com/schedules.htm  shows where they will play the next few weeks
