Swimming off Wong Amart Beach

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the sea water quality is like around the Wong Amart beach area (Garden Beach Hotel area specifically).

Iv'e read that opposite Central Pattaya the water is not really suitable for swimming and just wondered if that extends all the way up to North Pattaya.

We fancied doing some snorkelling etc,  are we better going to an Island or Jomtien area. ?

Also is it safe with regards to water currents/Rip-tides in early December. ?

Any info gratefully received

Thanks

jh

A mate of mine swam the length of Wong Amat a couple of years ago and lived to tell the tale !

Its better than Central Pattaya but still a bit iffy.Jomtien is better than both but still not great.

If you want to go snorkelling then I'd say definitely go further afield Koh Samet or Rayong area, about an hour away.

Best place is Koh Chang but its two and a half hours away plus ferry so you would have to stop over.

A couple of days minimum stay but well worth it....sea is clean and crystal clear.Lovely beaches and nice scenery but not much nightlife apart from Whitesands.

Recommended though...
