Any info onscuba diving sites near by Pattaya? I'm planning to arrive at the end of February. I will stay for a week if it is some nice diving sites in the area. Any recomendations about couple of good dive shops or dive resorts in the area?

Any sugestion about an even better destination inThailand for a place with good diving and night life?

Should be able to keep busy busy with the diving around Pattaya.

I'm not aware of any dive resorts in or near Pattaya (and if you want a live-aboard that's more likely to be something you'll find at Phuket)

 

There are a LOT of dive shops, several of which operate their own boat.  I dove through AquaRelax Divers two trips ago, and there are Mermaid Divers and several others.  

 

I asked around a lot and got a bunch of references but no really strong recommendations that I can recall for any one of the dive shops.

I haven't been, but you might look at Phuket -- not as much night life (and higher prices) but still supposed to be pretty good, and the diving is supposed to be great (although also pricier).

I have been diving in Thailand for almost 10 years. I'm not sure what you expect but Pattaya does not offer great diving. There are sites an hour or so boat ride out but if I was you I wouldn't waste your time diving in or around Pattaya. If you need some night action mixed with diving I would recommend traveling to Patong Beach. You can get boats out to the same dive sites as you would if you were staying on Phi Phi. The ride is still an hour or more but you'll be happier with the results. If you want pure diving without any mongering action try either Phi Phi or the Simalian Islands. You'll love both. If you go to Phi Phi, BYOTG. The Simalins are either a long day trip dive or a live aboard.

 

I would be happy to corrispond with you about dive sites and dive operations at any of the local sites.
