I made my 1st trip to Thailand for the month of Nov.

My wife wanted to go to Hawaii and I told her we should look into coming to Thailand, what I need to

know is Jomtien Beach family oriented, as we will be

bringing our grandson who is 12 yr old ? In the months

of June, July or Aug. does it rain all day every day?

Or should we plan a winter vacation ? Are there hotels

with pool for $30 to $35 USD a night ? How do you

get around there by baht bus? And is there a web site

about Jomtien Beach ?

Thanks whittler

Jontiem is a little bit off the betten path for the Bhat bus, but still on the line. Might have to take 2 buses from Pattaya proper B10 for one and B50 for other. Best way to take 12 yr old and wife, she must watch 12 yo while you go shopping or into Pattaya for massage etc.

hi

iv  just  come  back  from  pattaya  and  i   stayed

on  jomtien  beach.

not  on  the  beach  you understand.

i stayed  at  the  jomtien  boathose  house  hotel

at  1.080 baht  a  night.

jomtien  is  much  more  family  freindly than  s  pattaya.

it  does  have  a  few  gay  bars  at  the  north  end  of  the  beach  rd.

but  it  does  not  have  a  lot  of  in  yer  face  bars.

if  i  were  taking  a  family id  have  no worrys  bout  staying  on  jomtien.

I stayed at the Pattaya Park Beach Hotel, Jomtiem for 1500 per night inclusive of tax, service and breakfast. This is a nice family hotel with water park, beach. I stayed there with my 14 y/o daughter and I would stay there again. No hassle getting into Pattaya or back.  11 days but whose counting. ;D ;D ;D

Jomtien Beach Hotel is a nice Hotel, I stayed there twice.  The room I had had a big Queen size bed and a twin bed. It is a beautiful Hotel, they have alot for  children, they even have a bowling alley, a real nice pool, a nice hotel in general.  They even have these little sharks in their aquirium.  I think I paid $45.-$50. US.  I booked online once and it did not go through, I paid full price once $50.00 but that was during Chinese New Year.  It would not hurt to call the hotel before or print out your reservation.   Jomtien is better for the family, I used to stay there with my wife (now ex) I now stay at the Queen Victoria on Soi Yodsak, don't bring the kid there :) Good Luck

Also The address for the hotel is: 427 Moo 12 Jomtien Road, there are plenty of Baht buses.  They cost 10 baht, sometimes more with Jomtien, The Hotel has their own bus, just give them a tip.  Also being a foreigner they will try to charge you more, be strong.
