just back from Patts eat most days breakfast or dinner at the Butchers arms, must be one of the luckest people on earth, no staff aptitude, found them very pleasant and at time quite funny. Never had a good sausage in my hand outside of Dublin well except me own . Anyway found the place to be good for food and quite drink. Did not stay in rooms so cannot guide you there but certainly seen punters brining back BG and they did not have any problem. All in all would give it the thumbs up. :lsmile :lsmile stay cool

Thanks for the update,i will actually be staying there next week. Its a place i`ve been planning to stay for a while now and i have finally got round to it, and on the whole does seem to get some good comments from guests.Trip advisor as four reviews and they all give it good marks, three of them full marks.Places like this and the pig and whistle(soi 7) can be good if you want to get away from it all for a bit,a place to chill out and gather your thoughts without being pestered by hawkers and such.

I believe its very guest friendly too, great rooms priced at 850 750 and 650 baht,a well stocked bar with draught beers, decent farang food, tellys on the wall, spotlessly clean as well by all accounts, less than a week and i shall know myself.

Never stayed at the place but have eaten there many times, the food has always been very good. (western food) . My wife saids the thai food is very average.

Certainly recommend the place for a great breakfast not cheap but good

If you want thai food out of the butchers arms turn right and walk about 200 yds to the tin hut on the right that sells the fruit outside, foods good in there and reasonable.

One hates a bad attitude, I will give it a miss.

Which is a pity, with such a good position, they probably think they can get away with murder.

Ur not the only one. Read quite a few reviews on other forums on the attitude of the staff and management. Heads up folks!! I'm giving it a miss as well.

I had The Butcher's Arms recommended to me by an Anglophile Thai girl I met in Bangkok. I never stayed there, but did drop in for a beer and a feed, and was not disappointed. I got the feeling it could be an OK place to stay. Maybe next time....

My last visit was a year and a half ago. The one before that was about 20 years earlier. I must make it less lime than that before my next visit or the Butcher's might not be there with the rate of change in Thailand.
