Beaches offshore Pattaya

Hi!

 

Last year I went along with a fellow falang to an island with a decent beach right offshore Pattaya but I don't remember what is was called or exactly where it was. Does anybody know?

It was about 20 minutes ride with speedboad from Pattaya Beach and we payed 1600 b two/way. Are there other good beaches in the area and is there an alternative way of getting there? 1600 b is a little expensive to my taste.

The island was Koh Larn.  You can take the ferry there for around 50 baht I think. And I believe it leaves around 10 am everyday.  But I'm sure someone else knows exactly.

Koh Laan is very commercialised......loads of Japs...Chinese and Koreans.....the bay is packed with boats.......

You can hire a speedboat for the day to an island further on called Got Pai....unhabitable.....and is shear paradise...!!!!!

The only downside is take your own food and drink....cooler bags...etc.....The sppedboat can be hired from pattaya beach for 1500 baht for the day....and fill it up with your mates or Tg's...

The beach at Got Pai is paradise......never anyone there.....just secluded.....and the water ...you can see the bottom from 30 feet down.......pure white sand.....

Get a speedboat and ask to go to Hardtien, its on the other side of  the island so its not as crowded. Great beach  and some great surf in the afternoons.
