Yep, its me again.  I loved the place so much I want to get back and stay for about 3/4 months.  This however raises a lot of new quetions to be answerd.  Would it be better to get a single flight from the uk and book a return flight in Pattaya when I did need to go back?  Indeed , can I do that easy enough?

To stay for that long I would need to be very careful of my funds, what kind of cost would it be to hire a room for that kind of period?

There are I bet , things I have not thought of yet, if any of you guys can help with advice, I would be very gratfull .

I wonder if I could retire there?

                               Garty. ;D

If you are staying for a few weeks then a discount on the standard (already discounted from rack rate) hotel price is available most places. I can't advise on the best (deepest discounts) available as much would depend on ur expectations comfort wise.

As for flights, that is much easier. It is almost without doubt that to book a single and then a subsequent flight back would cost u considerably more. Best is to just make ur mind up in advance and go for 3/4/5 weeks or whatever. If u are convinced that a touch of flexibility is required then rather than an open return (the price will horrify u) then the best way is to book a return with an airline that permits changes with minimal penalties. A phone call to two or three reputable agencies shud ascertain the best options in that regard.

Garty,

If you're staying in L.O.S. for 3 to 4 months you'll need a visa. Also you can't fly into Siam on a single flight without a visa,a mate of mine tried to fly in on Air France and was told at Manchester airport that he would not be allowed to board the aircraft unless he had a return ticket! He therefore had to buy the return part of the ticket there and then at an extortionate price!!Some airlines might not be so strict and i'm sure the Thai authorities in Bkk aren't but it's still a risk.

Emirates and Singapore airlines although a little dearer don't charge for changing your return date.China,Lufthansa and S.A.S.charge £50 which i think is roughly the standard charge.Don't forget to check the validity of the ticket some cheap fares have got to be completed in 3 months.
