Kings and Flyers moving on to round 2.

 

Bruins/Caps going down to the wire. Can't believe this is the same Caps team that stunk most of the season.

Yeah, Caps had a weird season. Maybe peaking at the right time but I like da Broons in game 7 and I'd prefer them to move on as I like to watch them more than the Caps. Broons-Phlyers would be a slam-bang series. Preds are lurking.

So the second round is set. Some surprising teams moving on:

 

Rangers vs Capitals

Flyers vs Devils

 

Kings vs Blues

Coyotes vs Predators

 

I'm rooting for the Devils and the Predators, but since my team is out of it I'll settle for some exciting, well played hockey.

I wonder if we saw the best of it in the opening round. Western Conf teams are all defensive specialists who don't play wide open hockey. They play not to lose - the curse of all team sports. Nashville the mos interesting I think.

Basically we have one really good offensive team left, Washington has offense but seems to have evolved into more of a defensive team. I'm hoping for Phlyers-Caps in the east final. Rangers don't turm me on, they are good but not fun to watch IMO. Coyotes and Blues play sound hockey but no pop.

Maybe not the best, but certainly interest in this thread has slipped during round two.

 

The Western Final is set: Coyotes vs Kings. Both teams dominated their opponents.

 

In the East it looks like the Devils will soon send the Flyers home since they are up 3-1.

 

. . . then there's the Caps/Rangers. What a crazy series. Caps endured yet another heart-breaking OT loss in game 5. How do you allow the puck to slide in with 6 seconds left in regulation? Game 6 should be a doozy.

Devils took it to the Phlyers last night. Outplayed them in every aspect. NJD are a real dark horse team, I dn't think anyone saw them coming.

This is the wackiest playoffs in donkey's years, maybe ever. I don't think there is one prediction that has come true.

Game 7 tomorrow and I think my NYR may not pull it off again @ MSG.

They look tired, and they will have to rally to turn it around.

I hope they do.

 

Kings and Devils have set the league sideways. Quick playing out of his mind. Looking forward to the King/Coyote series very much.

Its gonna come down to who wants it more. This series has surprised me, more exciting than I expected from two primarily checking teams.

I haven't been able to access the site the past few weeks. Congrats to the Kings and Devils for making it to the finals. I'm rooting for the Devils and Martin Broduer, but my money would be on the Kings. They are the hot team.
