How busy has Pattaya been?

Anyone know how busy Pattaya has been? With all the stuff going on now I'm wondering how "busy" the busy season is compared to past years. I'm going at the end of April and I'm just curious as to how it will be.

I was there the first 3 weeks of Feb and it seemed about the same as always for this time of year, maybe a little bit more busy due to all the Chinese that came for Chinese New Years for a few days.

My observations are strictly my own, but it appears that at the present time, Pattaya is far from busy.  The Eastiny has lots of vacant rooms (at least on the top floor where I am).  Bar girls seem kinda bored.

I was in Pattaya between 6-21 Feb and my obsevation is that they were more of family tourists then usual and less of single tourist then usual.

The streets were full of normal tourists , families, couples, couples with thier parents and ofcourse those Asians who travel in groups. I hate walking behind them, they just walk slowly and block the way while I am in need to reach my distenation very soon for a beer or five.

The hotel which I stayed in was almost full, normally I see only the single tourist stay in the hotel but this time was differetn, alot actually, even Indian couples were there and whole bunch of Asian travelers.

I was in LOS last Nov/Dec and fell that the farang crowd was not as big as in years before. didn't have any problem booking my favorites places to stay and the only detail i saw was the amount of chinese tourists in pattaya's gogo bars. also, think there are more families around pattaya. good for me 'cause there were lots of girls for the taking. not bad, not bad at all. :) 8) ;D

That's what I was trying to say, lots more of normal tourists.  I stayed in the North part of town and noticed lots of buses.

 

Of course there's new beer bars sprouting up all over and plenty of bar girls.

 

I should be going in a few weeks :)
