Re: The Haven?????GOD OR BAD ???

There are better places to stay for the money.  The owners are not overly friendly and cater to the golf crowd.  Noise should not be a problem, construction is taking place up the street and rooms are fairly well removed from the street action.  The place does have an excellant restaurant, especially for Thai food.  Good location, but the AA Residence just up the street for 700bt a night is a much better deal and you can stay at the new Dynasty or Sandy Spring, also on same Soi for what you are paying at the Haven.

I agree. Look around for better deals. I stayed for a couple of days, and then moved to the Areca Lodge. Rooms nothing special, and I found the owners kids to be noisy (when I was jet lagged and wanted to sleep).

Good luck [smiley=toilet_claw.gif]

As others have said , unless you're a member of the manager's golfing fraternity , you will be treated like shit . Try to get an upstairs room as the poolside rooms are noisy due to the thin doors . The only good thing about the hotel is the excellent restaurant but that's open to the public so you can stay at one of the many better hotels on soi 13 & still eat there .

What you could do is stay there the 1st night , look at another hotel & move .

I have to agree with the theme of the mails here.

A guy I work with in the UK is married to a Thai girl whose sister works at the Haven......another guy I work with said he'd seen  the Haven and hotel/location looked good.

So I booked for 3 weeks for later this year.

However I was in Pattaya for 8 days over Christmas (staying at a different hotel) and thought I'd take the opportunity to check out the Haven.

To be honest,I was disappointed.Yes,the location was good but I didnt think much of the hotel.....rooms looked a bit grubby, although I'm sure the restaurant is good and the staff seemed friendly enough.

Therefore I've changed my hotel...Flipper Lodge,Flipper House,Eastiny,Pattaya Hill Resort look far better value.

But by all means try it for yourself and see what you think.
