Hua Hin coach service via Suvarnabhumi Airport

Recommended Posts

I have just noticed that the company that provides the Airport Link bus from Jomtien, Thappraya Road to Suvarnabhumi Airport has started a service from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin.

I guess that by getting the right connection it is possible to go to the Airport for 134 Baht and from there to Hua Hin for a further 305 Baht.

439 Baht seems a good price for this journey although perhaps for 4 people or more a taxi fare could be negotiated.

Yes i did that last year. 3200 i think i paid. Nice car from mr t but traffic was terrible. And i would be willing to pay much more just to not having to take a bus.

I thought the train would be fun too but arrgh.

Most of the trains to Hua Hin from Bangkok are second class seats with a fan only but we took the early train (special express) which is supposed to be the only aircon one. It wasn't air conditioned at all. It took forever and it was freaking hot. They never seemed to speed up at all and constantly stopped. I think either their site is wrong or there was a train substitution. Dunno really.

I didn't mind the one to Chiang Mai tho.

The timings may not be to everyone's liking, but there are plenty of aircon trains from Bangkok to Hua Hin.

So, my website conflicts with yours and when I arrived they didn't offer an aircon car or even have one that BOTH sites suggest was available

I have no doubt ... however, lots of trains go between Bankok and the southern provinces (and on to Malaysia) every day of the week. All of them pass through Hua Hin and, without exception, all have aircon. Anyone planning on making train journeys in Thailand should avail themselves to Dave Bernstein's excellent guide.

Did you book a seat?

If they stop as often as mine did I'd suggest a pass

Look on the bright side - lots of photo opportunities. The trains are slow, run late and suffer from a general lack of maintenance. That's no big secret. If time is a premium ... there are lots of alternatives.

I'd go with all of those if there was aircon

Did you book an aircon seat in advance?

No, but that doesn't stop me from understanding what the deal was because 'my' girl has a better understanding of English than Gabor does.

That was my plan too-take the earliest a/c train and enjoy the ride and countryside. Thanks for the heads up.
