Truevisions HD PLUS PVR - anyone using this?

I've been seeing ads for this box . It looks almost like what I need for time shifting and program capture.

 

I'd like to hear from anyone who is using one...does it work well and are you satisfied with it?

I've had the HD/PVR combo for a few months. It works great (unusual for Truevisions i know). I didn't buy the hard disk and the box from TV to save a few bob, they charge over the odds. But the PVR works well. The picture with a HD LED tv is awesome. The good thing about using interchangeable hard discs is that you have unlimited storage capacity. I started with a 500gb disc but will buy a 1 tb disc next. So easy to record programmes and watch them at your leisure.

Where did you buy the box (I assume you mean the PVR) if not from Truevisions?

 

As I recall the Truevisions box is about 4700b or something...don't know if that comes with hard disk or not.

 

Did you have to buy or subscribe to any other package from Truevisions to use it?

Can you use your Truevisions set top remote with it?

Does it integrate with their channel guide?

OK i got the hard disc and box from Tukcom. It was about 1,000 baht cheaper than that charged by Truevisions but i was lazy and could probably have saved even more if i had shopped around. In the article i listed it also shows how you can use other recording devices with up to 2 tb storage. You have to ring TV and confirm you want the PVR package which costs 100 baht a month. As soon as you do that you can use the PVR. The PVR is operated solely from the Truevision box remote. You just open the programme listing, click record on the required programme and it will record when the programme comes on. You can even record one channel and watch another. As i said really good i wouldn't be without it now. BTW the power from the hard drive comes from the Trusvisions box so you don't need another power source.
