When ever I used to leave my beloved Thailand from my Bangkok hotel, On the way  to the Airport  the taxi used to go pass this rather tall building on the highway. One taxi driver told me it was a hotel which I later found out was the Baiyoke.

If you check out on FLB under hotel bookings and select Bangkok this link should pretty much take you to it.

As my wife was going to be in Bangkok for 2 or 3 days I booked a jnr Suite on the 52nd floor for a absurb amount of 2500 baht per night.

There is a small hallway leading into the jnr suite pass the bathroom

There is a large kingsize bed and small lounge area to the left of the bed-area. The room is actually shaped in a "L" size.

As can be seen the colour scheme is light pastels on the bed, drapes and carpets.

There is a very nice lobby area as well as a revolving chinese restaurant on the top floor. (77th floor) We ate there on our last night and it was fine dining that could be charged back to your room account.

There was a electronic inroom safe and although I was with my filapina wife, It appeared to be guest friendly. My wife could pass as a thai and not once was she challenged for a thai ID card.

It is also a great area to stay in for bargains and IT. There are thousands and thousands of footpath stalls

as well as proper shops. All the proper shops advertise fixed prices. Also a ten minute around the corner is Panthip plaza.

I would stay here again if I wanted  to be off the Sukkumvit strip and I wanted a nice hotel in a interesting part of town.
