No problem with girls there but the place is a shit hole at least the room I got a look at was dark and very damp smelling.

 

Yes, the newly built block may be preferable.  Some of the older rooms, around the pool have a damp smell, though your description is a gross exaggeration. IMO.

Got to agree with this. I looked at two of their rooms in May of this year and both of them smelled of damp and the staff didnt seem to care either.

 

Its always annoyed me why Hotels dont air their rooms out when not in occupancy. I stayed in the Tower Block of the Ambassador a couple of years ago and they too stunk of dampness. Such a shame for a Hotel which once was one of the top 5 in Bangkok

There was construction work going on in September at the Lek Hotel and pile driving taking place on foundations for a new building next to Sandy Springs , both on Soi 13 where Ma Maison is located .

I ,am not enamoured of the rooms around the pool. Though the new rooms facing the pool are all fine, for the price.

The location of Ma Maison, closer to the beach, is unaffected by construction noise, as far as I noticed.
