Value accomodation

I know that this subject has been gone over a 1000 times but I am genuinely confused by the different reviews of hotels.  Some seem so diametrically different to others you wonder if they were staying at the same place.

 

Anyhoo, I will be there for two weeks end of November 2003 and my requirements are:

 

in-room safe

 

relaxed (no baht changing hands) guest policy

 

balcony

 

pool

 

walking distance to Walking Street (say max 10 minutes)

 

rate to 1500 baht a night

 

spotlessly clean and sheets changed every day

 

not that bothered about seaview or proximity to beach

 

Thats it.  Any recommendatiosn folks?

Have booked at the Residence Garden at the 1,350 rate.

 

They replied to  my email promptly with map plus directions in Thai.  Haven't seen the place yet but impressed with their efficiency as compared to several others who did not respond to my email inquiries.

 

Over a month to go but getting excited already.
