As with most of what CNBC reports... a day late and a dollar short...

 

Haven't y'all been paying attention to the rules part of the ticket? The airlines have been doing this for at least 2-3 years now...

 

Look at the class of the ticket (or price vs class)... and you will see that the lower priced tickets either offer 0% miles or some percentage less than 100%...

Not really regarding CNBC report.A few tickets do offer little but the vast majority offer some mileage.What you stated is true but has little bearing on what is coming,a points system that will award points instead of miles for ticket purchases.
