Hello there,

This is my first post on the FLB board, has anyone stayed at the Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments. I presume they will be guest friendly, but confirmation would be nice....

Thankyou for all your help.

Yes I stayed at the sunshine vista apartments about 5 weeks ago. No charge for guests :-)) Rooms good.Watch the housekeeper, she did not like me taking my laundry elsewhere >:( (It was a third of the price up the soi). Also when I stayed there .There was a lot of building work going on all around.Started early morning till about 5.Nice pool on roof!! Food in restaurant I found very poor.A nice touch was the secrurity guy saluted me smartly every night when I went out.In fact after a week I moved out for somewhere cheaper.I don`t need a pool.Plenty of places around just as  good for less money

Thanks very much. I am thinking of booking for x mas. They want me to settle the balance 3 weeks before arrival. For my stay it would be 28000 baht or so....

I am reluctant to pay that amount up front, if anything happens I have absolutely no leverage...

I am booking at x mas though.  I dont know what to do

If you go to the reviews section I wrote one about this place.

Bottom line - it is a nice place.  Nothing wrong with it except they are over-priced.  Not a big deal for an infrequent short time visitor.  But I stay 3 trips a year for 2 months a trip - can't make myself overpay for that.

Oh and regarding laundry, they mixed it up a bit.  If you use it make a note of what you send down.

The Areca does not have in-room safes.

As you may have heard they did have a problem about a year ago with a theft of a large amount of money from the deposit boxes at reception, but security has been improved since then.

I have never had anything go missing from my room, and have not heard of any problems in that respect.

Always pay with a credit card if anything happens you are protected by the credit card company. Credit cards are the safest way to do business with hotels, airlines, etc. By the way if they add a service fee for using the card just tell the credit card company and they will remove it from your account.
