This hotel is on Sukhumvitt Soi 4 down from Nana.  They seem to have reasonable rates and decent facilities.  I cannot  find much info.  Anyone stayed here?  Any help appreciated.  57 days and counting ;D

Chico posted a review on the Woraburi. Go to the next page and look through the threads of "Hotels in Bangkok."  The rates are extremely reasonable for a week or a month.  Its about a thousand paces away from NEP on Soi Nana, near the Omni but across the steet on a corner.

It has a/c, fridge, phone - the basics. The elevator worked ok. There were putting in a new pool last March that looked  nice from my quick glance. This is what I call a Thai budget hotel. The rooms are clean and painted, but not upgraded and a bit small.  The doors are wood planks. The delux is a bit bigger than the standard, but not fancier. The staff seemed friendly. I'd probably want a room open to the street view.   8) They room they showed me had a view of the wall of the next door building. Dynasty Inn has the same type views. My memory of the Waraburi come from me checking out the local NEP area hotels this Spring, but didn't stay there.  My recollection is that you could stay in the standard room for a day at B350, a week for maybe B1500, and a month for about B4500. Two good places to eat between the Inn and NEP are Jools and the Bus Stop Beer Garden. I believe the Inn had a restaurant, but I didn't look at it. The main drawback is that the rooms are drab and some chaps may not want the five minute walk to NEP.  But there are various bars along the way that are interesting. Hope this helps.

Hi Flyboy.

Yes, I did a short post about this place in March.

Have since stayed there June and July.

8 minutes walk to NEP but motorcycle taxis just around corner from hotel on Soi4.

Deluxe room 675baht or 645b per night for 3 nights paid in advance.  Includes basic breakfast, eggs, bacon/ham, toast and coffee.

The rooms are big enough for me.

Aircon is quiet.

TV has 5 or 6 channels including 2 that show English speaking movies.

My only gripe, the floor could be cleaner.

Restaurant  is pleasant open-air with fans.

Nice meals for around 100b.

Nice small pool on the 5th floor.

Staff are very pleasant.

I'll be back.

Found the Woraburi Inn brochure and my notes, here's some info.  Woraburi Inn is located on the corner of Soi 4 and Soi Ulit. Brochures says: room rates from 360 to 750 Baht. Air, refrig., cable tv, hot water, safety box and 24 hour room service. Has "Free Breakfast"  stamped on the brochure.

Telephone: 0-2656-7029, 0-2656-7236, Fax: 0-2656-7027 and http://www.sawasdee-hotel.com

e-mail:  woraburi@yahoo.com

I've some notes that I believe are daily/monthly rates for delux and the next two upgrades in rooms. For daily I have B675/765/900 and for the same monthly B4200/4760/5600.  ;D Good value for Baht.

FB make sure you check out about a joiner fee.

Stayed at this place recently in their biggest room and had no problem re joiner fee but spoke to a couple of guys staying in standard rooms who were charged a couple hundred baht for bringing guest back.

Next everything is cash and I mean cash then and there. Made a call to uk at about 0300hrs only to have a member of staff knocking on the door 10 minutes later asking for payment.

Same goes for mini bar and laundry you can be coming in at 2/3am and get grief about a 20 baht laundry bill plus you will not get your laundry back until you pay.

If you book by the week/month and then decide you do not like the place the money is non-returnable (you have to pay everything up front). There is also a 500baht room key deposit which seems to get eaten into.

Overall there are better places for the same price where you will be treated with a degree more respect.

Even the staff dislike what the management are making them do as they get the stick from guests.

Talking of guests at least 50% were Arabs when I was there 2 months ago.

There was a thread recently on this place on the Nana board "Accommodation" 90% of which were adverse.

You pays your money and takes your chouce i guess

  • 4 weeks later...

I have to say I didn't have any of these problems, I stayed in the deluxe room. It is possible that the guys in the 360 baht rooms may be hit for a joiner fee. Though, not for any of the other rooms.

Another point of note is that there are alway trainees there and it is possible they are nervous of making a mistake. So rather than the money coming out of their pockets, they may make sure that the collect any monies owing.

I was only there for two or three days and had no problems at all. I think it is also possible to have a late check out for around 50 baht an hour.
