Let's hope England do better than they did in the WC , that was a total embarrassment.......... :yikes:

Well, at least he has got the "backs" selection about right IMHO. Lancaster was being "ruled" by the defensive coaches in the WC.

Edit in: ....and I'm with the mad Canuck here....., Doh or no Doh, that avatar is f***ing disgusting!!!!! :puke

I've a nasty feeling that England might just end up "with a bloody nose" tomorrow night.

There is that possibility, but it's only a slim one. Although Scotland got further than England in the World Cup last year, they haven't beaten them since 2008 in the Calcutta Cup and lost ALL their 6 Nations games last year.

Hopefully under a new coach and a change around of the team, England could surprise a few people this year - or not!

Still nobody want to meet up with Billy No-Mates here to watch the game? :bhappy

Sorry- tied up with family commitments tonight, although I hope to break away to a TV for the match if sober enough!

The I-Rovers is normally a good venue for the rugby though.

Another statistic is that prior to Lancaster in his interim period; Johnson, Ashton and Robinson all lost their first games at Murrayfield against the Scrotes! The money is on England by 6-10, but I'm not confident, post what I saw at the World Cup.

Good games yesterday. Italy were so unlucky not to come away with a huge feather in their cap by almost beating France at home. France seemed to be slow starting both halves and Italy showed they didn't just come to make up the numbers. This could be their best ever 6 Nations.

Good win for England, who have yet to concede a try at Murrayfield since 2004. Steadied the ship a bit after the World Cup debacle.

Tonights game between Ireland and Wales should be good as between them they have won the last 4 championships. Kick off at 10pm thai time.

On a completely different note, on the way back from the Metro bar last night after the games, I stopped off at a small bar just down the road from the Cherry bar. Outside it had some firecrackers and other Chinese New Year stuff. At some point, I know not why, one of the bar staff decide to burn it all! She put a tin bucket in the road and, other than the firecrackers, put the other stuff in the bin and burnt it. Not only that, but she thought it a good idea to use a pool cue to poke at the fire to keep it going. Another bar girl thought this was a jolly good wheeze and promptly took another pool cue and had a prod with that!!

End result was a lot of burnt paper and two completely useless pool cues! No point asking to chalk the tips!

She then set off the firecrackers which sprayed the inside of the small bar and sent everyone running for cover - they're all mad!!!!!

Right, off to watch t'match!

The Ireland v Wales result (and just the result) is a bit of a disappointment. Being a bit of a "traditionalist" where rugby is concerned the 6 Nations is all about the "Grand Slam" and "Triple Crown" in my mind, with scant regard to the "league" placings. Unfortunately a draw just leaves England & France up for the Slam, and only England for the Triple Crown.

It was nice to see England play 2 of the Front Row starters for nearly all of the match. I don't much like the disruption to the flow of a game with the wholesale change of Front Row that seems normal between 50-60 minutes nowadays. Mako V. Is destined to be a "bench bullet" though, and I don't rate Marler too much, a bit of a "show pony". A fully fit Launchbury and Lawes would be some second row for the future!

Just about to watch the "plastic" American version of the game :P :gone , but from the comfort of my pit with "mammary pillows" provided! :tits:

You're empathy is appreciated Nightrider!

Well, "Slam" match on Saturday (or Sunday morning here) in Paris. The French have been pretty dismal so far, and I get the feeling that the old adage of them "suddenly turning it on" is a forlorn hope for them nowadays. Their league set up seems to have obliterated the "Flair" of old, and is detrimental to the production of French nationals, IMHO. 10 point win for England I reckon, and Billy V. to have another blinder! (That's probably blown it now! )

Ireland v Scotland earlier could well provide a more "entertaining" game for the neutrals though. Nothing at stake, apart from national pride, but they have had some epic open try-fests in the past.
