Be very careful when using Ebookers!! No doubt many transactions have passed by without a fault but when there is a problem they are the pits! I booked a flight for a pal who was travelling to LOS in March this year and found that there was a problem with the internet booking. It would appear that Ebookers have succumbed like many British companies to using foreign call centres and indeed have one in India somewhere. As a result I found myself dealing with a guy who didnt have a decent grasp of the English language. Because of this guys ineptitude my friends name was changed totally when his tickets arrived and he received tickets for two different airlines-EVA and BA-I'm not saying they are all like that but it caused me a lot of grief. BEWARE!!

Be very very wary of Garuda too. They are very likely to withdraw services with next to no notice. At the moment I believe they are stopping flights from London to BKK towards end of December.

Report from Skytrax.com                                          GARUDA CANCELLING EUROPEAN FLIGHTS

20 November 2002  Source: Reuters

Garuda Indonesia will suspend all flights to Europe from January because of lower demand since last month's nightclub bombing on its resort island of Bali, AFP reported.

The carrier, which flies to three European destinations, will halt flights between Bali and London from January 5 until March 29. It will also cancel flights to Amsterdam from Jakarta between January 22 and February 20.

The carrier earlier cancelled flights to Frankfurt and reduced its three weekly flights to London to two. It also cancelled flights to the Australian cities of Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide from Bali, the paper reported.

The nightclub bombing left about 190 people dead, mostly tourists, in the nation's worst terrorist attack. Hotel occupancy rates have plunged, and foreign governments including the US and Australia have urged their citizens to leave Indonesia or cancel non essential trips.
