The most obvious option is to go on a Star Alliance multi-sector ticket.  These are best booked through one of the larger agents (Travelbag or Trailfinders).

 

You could then fly LHR-BKK with Thai, BKK-TYO on Thai/ANA (All Nippon Airlines) codeshare and TYO-LHR with ANA.

 

If you are not already a member of Thai's Royal Orchid Plus airmiles scheme you should join beforehand (join online at the Thai website) and that trip alone should accumulate you enough miles for a couple of free internal flights in UK with British Midland (bmi).
