Major board Upgrade Completed

Recommended Posts

I have just completed a major upgrade to the boards.

You should not notice much difference as it has mainly been done to fix some bugs.

The biggest change you will notice is that the option to stay logged in, when you connect is now back.

Please be careful with this option.  If it is checked and you do not log out at the end of a session, anyone with access to that computer will be able to get into the system without logging in.

This is quite handy if its your own computer and secure.  You can come back to the board anytme without having to log in.

However if you leave youself logged in at  an internet cafe, or you have someone else in your household/office that should not be on the board then unauthorized people will have access.  If you are on a non-secure computer "MAKE SURE YOU LOG OUT AT THE END OF A SESSION".

If anyone notices problems with the new upgrade, please report them in the Technical Problems Board.

Those people who could not log in before without adjusting the system clock or in one or other of the major browsers should not experience this problem now.

Cheers

Pete

Tom's question is a good one.  That feature is very handy when the thread is quite long and you want to check the most recent postings.

Hi guys,

I agree that the go to top/bottom feature was useful. Having said that it's actually very easy to switch between the top and the bottom. Simply press Control + Home to go to the top or Control + End to go to the bottom.

Hope this helps

Alan

It seems the Go to top and Bottom are a casualty of the upgrade.  I have tried reinstalling that feature but at present I can't get it to work.

Meanwhile Eneukman seems to have a good answer to the problem.
